Amanda makes contact

After several months of silence, I got this email:

A: Hey, how is it going. I am not sure if this email would work, but i just wanted to say hello, in hopes of receiving an answer. These months have gone by so fast...I miss our dinner dates at the Sushi place.
Me: Wow, that's interesting, given the fact that, in our last email exchange a few months ago, you told me not to contact you ever again, you called me names etc. And now you miss our dinner dates? funny, that one...
A: Well, we are all human, and there is nothing wrong to reminisce about the fun we had and our dinner dates at the Sushi place.
Me: Well, you do remind me of Salma Hayek when you wear your hair down...
A: Awww, its nice to reconnect with you, even though you turned down my Facebook friend invite. I am making an effort here..
Me: Hey, how about we go for lunch at the Sushi place again
A: Can I have you for Christmas? he he
Me: Sure!

So we set up a meeting for the following Monday at noon. In comes the text message that morning saying: " Arghhh, I just flew in from Hawai, can we do later today, I am exhausted, need sleep. I want to look hot for you, since I have not seen you in so long".

Me: You always look good Amanda. I can't later today though, need to go last minute shopping... Can you do Wednesday at noon?

A: Can you get away from shopping?

Me: Unfortunately no. So is Wednesday ok?

A: I am not flying, so yes.

On Wednesday at noon, I go to the designated place, with a weird feeling, like it will be a no show. And sure enough, it was a no show. I don't think I have super-sensory powers, but somehow I was getting the vibes that something was up.

So I texted her. No answer. Which is very strange for her, as she always communicates, even if there is a last minute change in plans. So I was getting a bit annoyed, and also worried. Maybe, since she is an airline stewardess, she got called to fly out last minute. Or, maybe she got a better offer from someone else (Unlikely: who would give a better offer, lol, I am soooo modest sometimes).

Anyway, have not heard from her all day. Just as well. 2009 has been a year with many ups and downs, personally and professionally. So I am sort of glad to see this year go. At least we all had great health. And the stock market recovered, which is a good thing, of course.

As far as SB's, well, now is the time to separate the wheat from the chaff. Most were chaff. I thought Amanda was one of the good ones, but the no show today was inexcusable, especially after we went to great pains to reschedule. Plus, she was the one that initiated contact in the first place, after all these months. So she goes into the chaff pile.

The best of all times, was Malone. Attractive, personable, well spoken and educated (Law school grad), great chemistry in and out of bed. And a great all around person as well.

I wonder what future adventures await me in SDland. Meeting someone for a quick coffee tomorrow, she sounds interesting, i am taking a day off from work, so what the heck. Can always drink more coffee. Let's see what happens.

And Tina emailed me but I will skip that one, for now. Not in the mood. I have been pretty quiet lately, and just thinking about 2010....and getting ready for my trip to Costa Rica next week. Should be fun.
