Went home alone tonight, after work and having a couple of drinks with co-workers. Was sitting across someones 25 year old cousin who had met us at this bar in midtown. I could have sworn she was playing footsie while fiddling nervously with her long brown hair. I do not exaggerate. Once it's an accident. But the second or third time with a smile on her face, that's intentional. I totally ignored it as I was surrounded by work buddies.

I excused myself early, and arrived home around 10 pm. Opened up my email and saw something from Tina for the first time in months.

'hi there darlin' how are ya'

'hows it going down there. i do miss texas, i have to say, even though i'm a yank!'

'been extremely rainy down here. Miss you. How are you?'

'doing good. i retired from the sugar world. too much stress, drinking etc etc. but i would see you again in a second. you were the best one. that's why i hung around for more than a year with you.'

'awwww u sweet typer you. You should take a business trip to houston :)'

'i def should .....re-live some of those hot times'

'sex was always good :)'

'and then some. and the friendship wasn't bad either. i felt like in college hanging out with my buddy at Coaches'

I can still hear her texas drawl, and that made me smile. I guess I still have a soft spot for southern women.
