An offer I could easily refuse

I remember an unusual and extravagant request that I received, while I was still in Houston. This must have been about 3 years ago. I had been seeing this SB for several months and had developed a good rapport. She knew I was interested in real estate as an investment, and so she took it up on herself to stop by at some open houses and pick up informational fliers. These were houses or condos near the area where we used to hang out, so we even went to visit some of them. I really like seeing houses by the way, one of favorite pastimes for Sunday afternoons. We saw one place that was downtown by Hadley street, and near the recording studio of Beyonce's sister. This condo was really nice with some glass and steel and multi level architecture, and then she uttered: 'David I think you should buy this, and then rent it out to me and my sister. It just feels so right walking around this condo, it's beautiful and its value can only go up. Especially if the Knowles sisters hang around here.'

She was right I guess and the house was very nice indeed, but I started seeing trouble from the start: what would happen if she was late paying her rent? Or if she skipped rent all together. What leverage would I have? None. She could easily tell my better half: 'Hey I am bangin your husband, and by the way the condo you guys just bought, I am living in it'.

So I had to pass on this offer. It was very tempting for a while though, and that house was really nice. I wonder if it will go back on sale anytime soon....
